LINKEDIN GROWTH MARKETING CASE STUDY

3,743% Audience Growth: How LinkedIn Powered Momentum.io’s Expansion

In August of 2024, Ashley Wilson, Co-Founder and COO of Momentum.io, found herself at an inflection point. Her company — an enterprise listening platform that uses AI to transform customer conversations into actionable insights — was on the rise, fresh off a $13M Series A funding round.

The technology was there, the product was gaining traction, but Ashley and her team had a clear question: How do we accelerate growth by reaching the right people?

Ashley’s role wasn’t just about running operations; it was about shaping Momentum’s strategic vision. Her challenge was twofold: building Momentum’s credibility in a crowded market and making her own profile a magnet for the decision-makers her company needed to engage.

This wasn’t about vanity metrics or going viral. The goal was razor-sharp: drive visibility, reach key decision-makers, and position both Ashley and Momentum.io as leaders in the emerging customer intelligence category.

So, Ashley partnered with us at Column — a LinkedIn growth agency focused on helping B2B founders use LinkedIn as a strategic lever for real business results. Over the course of six months and counting, we worked together to reimagine how LinkedIn could align with Momentum’s broader goals.

Setting the strategy

We started with a deep dive into Momentum’s target audience and organizational objectives. Momentum wasn’t trying to reach everyone

Their ideal customers were senior executives — think Sales Directors, CROs, and VPs of RevOps — at U.S.-based companies with 200 to 2,000 employees. These companies were grappling with complex sales processes, rapid growth, and a need to adopt AI-driven tools.

Ashley’s personal profile, on the other hand, needed to speak to a slightly broader audience: thought leaders, investors, and peers in the B2B tech space. Together, we defined a dual strategy:

  1. For Ashley’s profile: Establish her as the go-to leader in customer intelligence, leveraging her expertise to share insights about scaling businesses, solving sales challenges, and automating workflows.
  2. For Momentum’s company page: Drive visibility and interest in Momentum’s platform by focusing on use cases, buyer pain points, and the real-world outcomes of using their product.

Building content that drives business

LinkedIn thrives on authenticity and depth, so we focused on creating content that cut through the noise. No shallow “Top 3 Tips” posts. Every piece of content was tied to Momentum’s business objectives and Ashley’s personal expertise.

For Ashley’s profile:

  • We designed a content calendar that alternated between storytelling posts, thought leadership, and actionable insights. Posts included:
    • Storytelling: Ashley shared moments like navigating Momentum’s Series A funding and the challenges of scaling as a startup COO.
    • Thought leadership: Posts about sales forecasting pain points and how AI could revolutionize RevOps.
    • Actionable insights: Clear, tangible takeaways, such as automating Salesforce workflows or aligning sales and customer success teams.

For Momentum’s company page:

  • We created posts designed to educate and engage decision-makers, including:
    • Use case spotlights: Posts breaking down how Momentum.io transforms customer data into actionable insights for RevOps leaders.
    • Customer success stories: Highlighting how users improved forecasting accuracy and reduced churn rates.
    • Industry trends: Posts connecting Momentum.io to broader trends like AI adoption and sales automation.

We also leveraged targeted ad campaigns to promote Momentum’s highest-performing content. Sponsored posts (specifically thought leader ads) amplified their reach, helping them connect with key decision-makers at scale.

Step 3: The results

By February 4, 2025, the results spoke for themselves.

Ashley Wilson’s profile:

  • Impressions: 275,858 (+3,883.6% YoY).
  • Members reached: 83,797 (+3,743.9% YoY).
  • Engagements: 4,951 (+3,768%).
    • This included 4,274 reactions and 657 comments, underscoring the depth of her audience’s interest.
  • Follower growth: Ashley’s profile attracted hundreds of new followers, many of whom fit Momentum’s ICP (ideal customer profile).

Key RevOps leaders and decision-makers started engaging with Ashley’s posts, and several even reached out directly to discuss Momentum’s platform.

Momentum.io’s company page:

  • Impressions: 454,332 (+530.8% growth).
    • Organic posts drove a 7.3% engagement rate, far above the industry average.
    • Sponsored campaigns delivered 377,499 impressions and over 5,400 clicks, driving significant interest.
  • Visitor metrics:
    • 345 custom button clicks (+885.7%), signaling high intent traffic.

Tying it back to business

Why does this matter? Because LinkedIn wasn’t just a place for Ashley to post; it became a strategic tool that supported Momentum’s organizational goals.

  1. Visibility in the right markets:
    • By consistently engaging their audience, both Ashley and Momentum.io positioned themselves as trusted names in the customer intelligence space.
  2. Inbound leads:
    • Several prospects who fit Momentum’s ICP engaged with Ashley’s posts or followed the company page — a testament to the power of thought leadership in driving inbound interest.
  3. Sales alignment:
    • The content strategy wasn’t just about creating visibility. It directly addressed the pain points of RevOps leaders — the very people Momentum’s platform was designed to help.

Final thoughts

For founders and executives, LinkedIn isn’t just another social platform. When done right, it’s a lever that can accelerate business growth, reduce sales friction, and build credibility in competitive markets.

Ashley Wilson and Momentum.io are proof that the right strategy — paired with consistency and execution — can turn a profile and company page into a growth engine.
